Vehicle manufacturing is an important industry for the country. There are not many brands involved but volumes are solid.

First up is car figures. For years there was little variation, but things have accelerated of late, with 2011 very successful.

1 Nissan 542,000 +18.8%
2 VW 515,000 +18.4%
3 Ford 455,000 +16.5%
4 GM 139,000 -21.6%
5 Fiat 57,000 New
Total 1,707,000 +16.1%

Now for Light Trucks. Production numbers also were stable for some time, but again taken off in the last couple of years.

1 GM 411,000 +7.4%
2 Chrysler 251,000 +2.1%
3 Nissan 79,500 +58.1%
4 Toyota 50,000 -6.6%
5 Honda 47,000 -13.9%
6 Fiat 33,000 New
7 Ford 7,000 +74.0%
Total 878,500 +3.4%

Combined car/LT of 2,678,000 is substantial. This will do wonders for the Mexican economy. Brazil is unhappy with imports from here, so future increases may be tempered by some sort of capping exports to that important market for Mexico.
