The Freelander as it looks now... |
The Freelander (LR2) is coming to its conclusion. It will be reborn as the Discovery Sport in 2015. Until then it soldiers on as a very capable vehicle, selling in quite good numbers. It looks smart, drives well and goes off road with the usual LR aplomb.
...and how it will look as the Discovery Sport. |
Below are sales figures by nation that I have been able to gather for 2013. Rankings for the last four years are there, but a few of those I cannot get sales for 2013. I have held off releasing the data hoping for more information but nothing has happened for a while. It might as well be out there.
Some figures are estimates - all of which have some merit - but they are based on something. It would be nice if LR were releasing such data but they don't and I assume it would be considered sensitive information. The fact that all competitors already have garnered this information in some way, virtually all manufacturers except perhaps Renault keep it to themselves.
Each nation is colour coded according to region. If anyone can add anything, please let me know, although I suspect it's unlikely that you could and that is understood.
