When just counting cars, VW wins in the RSA but add light commercials and Toyota runs away with it. 20% is a sizable slice of the cake and keeps the Big T well ahead of the competition. Ford has been having a good run lately and is closing in on second spot.
Most brands come under Naamsa, an open organisation when it comes to statistics. The rest mainly fall under AMH, an organisation promising to be more open but clearly not in its corporate culture, as it continues not to deliver on its promise. Brands such as Hyundai, Kia, Foton, Chery and Daihatsu which come under AMH are by necessity estimates. They are based on a known total but the division of those sales is where the estimation occurs.
