The BMW 2 Series Coupé found 28,000 homes in 2015 |
In 2015, the BMW Group (BMW, MINI and Rolls Royce) sold 2,247,500, up 6.1%. Total sales have been up each year but the increases are slowing. No new niches for BMW, increased competition in the premium segment and China cooling have all had an impact.
Europe accounted for 1,000,400 sales and 44.5% of the total. Asia slowed and contributed 685,800 units and 30.5% of the total. The Americas edged closer to the half million mark with 495,900 sales and 22.1% share. Finally others slipped below 3% and 65,400 sales.
Looking over the last few years it's not surprising that Asia has been the main growth region but slowed in 2015. The Americas has held up well and Europe had a good 2015. It's getting very competitive in the premium arena and 2016 will be challenging for each of BMW's divisions.
