The chart below is ranked according to sales for October. The green is for gain in market share for either October or Year To Date. Sales for October slowed to +2.7%, compared for the YTD figure of +8.2%. The UK was down slightly after many months of gains.
VW had a small drop in sales but the fall out from the scandal would have had marginal effect. The largest brand to be up both for the month and year is BMW. Nissan got past Toyota but I wonder if it can hold on to that until the end of the year. Toyota clawed back some of the shortfall in October.
Mazda is having a good year along with land Rover. The new smart model is having a predictably positive effect as is the new XE for Jaguar. The Jeep Renegade is doing the business for the brand.
