The third consecutive sales increase and a healthy 9.3% at that. It was still some way short of the best of years last decade. VW took its tally of firsts to six in a row but Toyota did close the gap. Opel had a 30.4% increase, with the Astra model going from 1,289 to 3,608 units sold. Ford's 11.4% gain was helped by the Focus, with registrations up 38% to 3,318.
The prize for the year goes to Jaguar, with sales up 152%. This was due to the XE model that accounted for over 60% of all the marque's sales. The Finns are keen a good car to drive and the XE is class leading.
In the chart below, pale yellow represents a reduction in registrations, pale blue is increase but lost market share. Green is for those exceeding the market growth and finally the salmon colour for those with over 100% increase.
