Iceland has been through some hard times of late. In 2005 sales peeked at 18,000 but had plummeted to just 2,200 by 2009. Things have been picking up again and a 57% increase for 2012 is strong. Only one brand managed a slight decrease, the rest made hay. Below are rank, brand, sales and increase on 2011.
Toyota remained perennial leader in this remote island nation. Being a small nation means that things bounce around greatly. Mazda rockets up at a rate that could not happen in larger markets, which all adds to the fun.

All terrain vehicles are strong sellers understandably. It is a country I would like to visit but preferably in summer. I suppose winter has special uniqueness though.
