Belgians like buying new cars. For a country so small, over half a million sales is very high. 2016 was a good year but by no means a record either. A 7.7% increase was achieved for the year.
For a second year Renault prevailed over its nemesis VW, slightly pulling ahead in 2016. The two have dueled for decades over the coveted top spot. Mercedes Benz had the strongest growth among the top ten brands, while Opel passed Peugeot. All the big gains were lower down as you would expect. Jaguar, Infiniti, Morgan and Rolls Royce exceeded 100% improvement in their sales.
