Winners: BMW takes the prize here taking 12.9% of sales (national average 6.4%) and being the best selling brand (nationally 4th). MINI took 3.8% (2.4%) and 9th ranking (17th). Not many others did that well although Land Rover secured 3.0 (2.5%) and Volvo 2.1 (1.6%) showed this is an area for premium brands. Mercedes had a strong increase.

Losers: There were many including Vauxhall, which only took 8.3% (10.2%), Nissan 4.4% (5.8%), Renault 1.7% (2.9%) and 22nd (13th). Peugeot had 3.2% (4.0%) and Fiat 1.8% (2.5%).

It's unusual that while overall sales were lower than average for the country, premium marques did well. This would indicate a contrast of living standards in this region.
