Back in 1999, SEAT made more cars than it did in 2015. OK, so it was only 2,000 units different but there is a reason for that lack of growth. The brand is almost exclusively sold in Europe and sales for that region haven't grown in that time. It's not ideal to have all your eggs in one basket.
Things are coming right for the brand. Production has been up for the last three years and five of the last six. For the last three they have been up 10%, 12% and 5%. The León has been the main reason for that.
Only two models seem to sell in quantity, based around five models. That is not enough today. The SUV sector is booming and where is SEAT in that? The new Ateca has just arrived in 2016 and that is long overdue.
