Parking wardens waste no time in Morocco |
We may not think of North Africa as a region producing cars but Renault obviously do just that. 307,500 vehicles were made in two facilities, Morocco and Algeria. The former nation has high hopes of the motor industry becoming a major part of its economic growth.
All the models made for Renault originated from Dacia, the low cost brand. These are an ideal car to be made here as they will be popular among the locals and as export cars the manufacturing cost will be reasonable.

In the Middle East, one vehicle model is made in Iran in a joint venture arrangement. 40,000 rolled off the assembly line in 2015, all of them being the Logan. Renault sold three models amounting to 51,500 vehicles, taking 4.8% of the market in the process.
