At 14th is Audi, with production up from 1.9 to 2.1% of global output in 2014 from 2013. About half of all units made are in Germany and by adding China, something like over three quarters of all Audi production is covered. Apart from domestic plants in Ingolstadt and Neckarsulm (which make most models), overseas plants are as follows:
Belgium (A1), China (A4L, A6L, Q5), Hungary (TT, A3 Cabriolet), Slovakia (Q7) and Spain Q3,
Assembly from kits which doesn't count as full car making in this chart is carried out in Brazil (A3), India (A3, A4, A6, Q3, Q5, Q7), Russia (A4, A5, A6), The Ukraine (A4, A6),
I get the impression Audi has reached a ceiling in the sense that continued growth will be a challenge, depending on how the global sector increases. Increased competition is part of it as is how far Audi can go in taking sales off the other two German premium rivals. Audi did win the premium poll I held for the big three German makes, but the small sampling must be taken into account.
