The Swedes seem a very organised and efficient lot. Statistics are swiftly released and with detail too. For 2012, Volvo reigned supreme as usual, but with VW reducing the gap yet again. Will VW eventually take the mantle of biggest selling brand in Sweden one day? You would have to think so but Volvo won't relinquish that without a fight.

Nice gains were had by Land Rover and Subaru, but a poor year for Ford, GM Opel and Mitsubishi. Jeep sales include Dodge and Chrysler sales, which have gone to Lancia, so the decrease is exaggerated. Not a particularly good year for Japanese makes, which are not that popular anyway. The first two colums are 2011 and 2012 rank in sales. The last colum is increase or decrease. The total market fell 8.4%.
