In this small South American country, diversity sums up the car market. One thing that you notice in the list is the number of names you don't see in western nations, Chinese brands. They proliferate in emerging markets such as this. To emphasize this, I have colour coded the list. Chinese brands account for half of the brands! They seem to take sales off each other as only one makes the top 10. Despite an increase of 3.5%, Chevrolet dropped sharply, although still holding a large 18.7% of sales. Goog gains for Nissan, Suzuki and Hyundai. Total sales of 53,200 dwarf the 4,400 figure of 2003! It's grown each year since.

The first three columns show 2010 to 2012 ranking, the second column in from the right is increase or decrease, and the extreme right shows market share for the major brands.
