No doubt it will now be somewhat overshadowed by the drop dead gorgeous Evoque. However, its clean lines and excellent off road talents will make it the preferred set of wheels for quite a few people.

LR Freelander Sales By Country: 2010

The Discovery, or LR4, is a vehicle of contrast. It is rugged, yet refined; butch, but smooth. It gives you the best of both worlds and for that reason the best selling LR in markets such as Australia and South Africa.

I think it a fine looking vehicle, perhaps my favourite with the LR stable or any SUV on the market. It's only downside is its weight, which will come down with the next model. Overall a strong, refined vehicle.

LR Discovery Sales By Country: 2010

The Range Rover has always been a solid seller and continues as such. However, it has been easily outsold by the Sport model since its introduction. There will always be those who like the regal Range Rover, but the Sport brings a dynamic edge to the genre.

In many European nations, some Land Rovers are classified as commercial vehicles. In most but not all cases, it would be a Defender model. When sales are released by model, the commercial sales are not always included. Most countries appear in one or the other list, some in both such as Germany. The majority of the UK commercial sales would be the Defender, but I am sure not all. As to the true figures, only the local importer and Land Rover would have the answer. If anyone can add anything.....

LR Defender Sales By Country: 2010

The Freelander has been a success for LR from day one. It should have been released even sooner but LR couldn't afford to. How times have changed. The current Freelander (LR2) hasn't sold as well as it deserves, partly due to conservative styling (which still looks good in my eyes) and increasing competition in the segment. It is a fine all round vehicle.
Below are sales for some countries in which it is sold. The list will grow as more data comes to my attention, and you dear reader may even be able to help with that. In some countries, Freelander sales may be included in commercial sales figures in some European countries which I cannot access, but generally it's a fair reflection of sales.

Some say the Discovery (LR4) is the best SUV, with good road manners and excellent off road capability. It is hard to argue with that. It certainly sells well in places where rough roads and off roading are common. The list is by no means comprehensive, but will be added to as data comes in.

LR Discovery Sales By Country: 2011

There are three lists in this entry, RR Sort, Range Rover and combined sales. They give an indication of how the model sells in various countries and as more figures come to light, they will be added.
The Range Rover Sport has been a winner since its introduction in 2005. Combining luxury, SUV capabilities with good handling is clearly a popular combination. The RR Sport is very popular in Italy, perhaps the driving emphasis appeals.

This also means that some countries got the car sooner than others, so that skews the figures against some nations. There is a long waiting list for this vehicle, so the success is undoubted. Land Rover underestimated the popularity the Evoque would have. Perhaps they should have asked me, or anyone else for that matter, and that misconception could have been clarified. I mean, hello? I'm sure LR is working hard to increase supply.
