I did cars for North America, but seeing as vehicles create a very different scenario, I decided to add this too. (See cars by clicking here). For example, the USA goes from 44% to nearly 58% of total production Also reduced car production numbers become an increase when trucks are added.
USA: This is the highest percentage for the US in the Americas region since 2006. Vehicle manufacturing is still a big part of the nation's economy, especially trucks.
Mexico: It passed Brazil in 2014 and by 2015 has since left Brazil in it's wake. This is by far the best percentage for Mexico within the region but also the highest production numerically ever.
Brazil: This doesn't paint a pleasant picture. In the last two years, nearly 1.3 million less vehicles were made here. That is a 35% drop. Ouch. How much lower will it fall?
Canada: This may be the lowest percentage of the Americas region ever at 10.9%, but Canada still has a sizable car industry. There is no doubt that situation upsets many Canadians, but the truth is attracting new brands is unlikely.
Argentina: The lower end of the region isn't doing well and it shows in the car making statistics. Things have been a lot worse in years gone by and current volumes over half a million are quite strong.
Double Counts: At the bottom of the chart, you will notice double counts. This happens when a car has sizable contributions from two sources and it comes down to which nation should count it as their manufactured vehicle. Sometimes both nations are considered the producer and it becomes a double count. In this case, double counts are for South America, representing 0.2% of total production.
