This is the best year since 2007 and comes on the back of three consecutive years of increases. Toyota is the top car brand but adding light commercial vehicles and Ford take top honours. VW is second after being the leader for the previous five years. With a 17.6% rise in registrations, few decreases were experienced.
Ford could only manage third best selling car with the Focus model, while the Fiesta was sixth. Where it really scored was with the Transit van, which trounced the competition.
In the chart below, pale yellow represents a reduction in registrations, pale blue is increase but lost market share. Green is for those exceeding the market growth and finally the salmon colour for those with over 100% increase.
