Moldova Car Sales By Brand : 2015

Sales data for this small European nation is hard to find, I had to crawl over broken glass to obtain it. Well not quite, but an occasional hyperbole doesn't do any harm. Some of the gaps in the rankings are due to a lack of full information but all the bigger players are accounted for.

Total sales dropped by over a quarter. Nearly 10,600 cars were bought in 2008, so the current level of 3,500 odd is well down on that. A banking scandal that came to light in late 2014, political instability and rising inflation are among the problems faced by Moldova.

Seeing as Moldova is a neighbour and closely related to Romania, it is no surprise that the Dacia car is the best selling. However total sales are depressed presently and Dacia registrations nearly halved. Hyundai and Toyota also did it tough, as did Kia and Opel. Meanwhile Suzuki and Renault each had a great year, both jumping twelve places.
