Sales here were a record for 2016, in fact the last three years have been so. Each of then exceeded 700,000 and they are the only years that has been achieved. The source of the data below suggests 2017 will drop something like 10%. That will still be a good result. 2016 was up 4.3%.

Renault returned to the winner's circle, elbowing VW out of the way. Opel and Fiat moved up but are still a long way from the top two. Suzuki had a couple of very bad years, followed by an impressive rebound this year. Both land Rover and Jaguar had strong gains.

In the chart below, pale yellow represents a reduction in registrations, pale blue is increase but lost market share. Green is for those exceeding the market growth and finally the salmon colour for those with over 100% increase.
