Lada is making better cars but is still a work in progress

The Lada Granta is a popular car in Russia, one of three models that make the top six for the local brand. The second placed Hyundai Solaris is called various names, but is the Accent model elsewhere. Amazingly the Renault Duster is 4th and the Logan 7th, both of which are really Dacias.

The Hyundai Solaris is a strong seller

At 11th is the Chevrolet Niva, a small SUV built in conjunction with AvtoVaz (Lada). It has a nicer body now but still retains the same running gear, ideal for rough terrain and poorer roads. The similarly rugged Lada 4x4 is just below it in 12th.
