The Renault / Dacia Duster getting its tyres dirty
The Renault Group comprises of three brands, Renault (France), Dacia (Romania) and Samsung (Korea). They share models with each other, so the list below expresses that reality. Total sales were up 3% which was the same as 2013.
The Clio is the main model and has been for some time, this list going back to 2009. It's below there that the changes occur. The Duster is a Dacia SUV that has really gone well for the company. Second to fourth are all Dacias, but many are sold with a Renault logo in many parts of the world. The Mégane has lost sales in this time, so that is a model that has been slipping. The Mark IV edition is to be released at the end of 2015 or early 2016 I believe.
Summary: Renault have been turned around in recent years. Dacia has helped greatly, providing profit and models for emerging nations. This has given Renault success in these markets that Renault models could not have achieved at all. Nissan has also worked well as a partner, despite the appearance of being an odd couple. The new Mégane will certainly help sales figures when it arrives.
