Sales for June were only +0.8%, although YTD they were a more robust +8.3%. It doesn't look like 2016 will be a record year but won't be that far off it.

PSA and Renault core brands took 49.5% share so far this year and 52.5% for June. Including Dacia takes each each figure to 55.2% and 58.0% respectively. By including light commercial vehicles the percentage goes up a bit more.

Of the import brands, VW is at 7.0% share, down from its 2012 peak of 8.1%. Sales are about the same as last year but 7% has been shaved off its market share. Mercedes sales are up 6.6% so far but as it had a very strong finish to 2015, its share is well down 13%. It will need another strong finish to avoid slipping into minus territory.

Two marques going well from a low ranking are Jaguar and Infiniti, both benefiting from new models and widening their appeal with smaller offerings.
