Israel Premium Comparison : 2010-16

Premium cars are proving popular in many nations. They are often outselling cheaper mainstream brand while at the same time making more profit. More recently the most aggressive attack on this segment have been the BAM marques, BMW, Audi and Mercedes Benz. However other car makers are striking back and the competition is heating up. So a look at sales in this decade would be interesting.

First taking the BAM brands out of the equation, how are things shaping up in Israel? From 2010 to 2016, premium sales were up 74%. Now individually: Lexus +211% Cadillac +114% JLR +68% (LR +58% Jag +91%) Porsche +46% Volvo +18% Alfa Romeo +1%. Infiniti is new.

Summary:
 Lexus and Cadillac did best which is in contrast to other countries. The 74% overall growth isn't that large either in a comparison to elsewhere.

Now adding the other brands to the BAM marques, how do things stack up? Total sales growth goes to 158%, due to the BAM brands increasing 218%! The 'Others' took 42% in 2010 but by 2016 only had 28%. The BAM marques took 72% of all premium sales in 2016. This is a nation moving toward the BAM marques.

Summary:
 The BAM trio are becoming more and more preferred to all others. The fight back of the the 'Others' isn't being seen here. The three biggest in 2016 were 1) Audi, 2) BMW & Mini, 3) Mercedes.
