Total sales were nothing spectacular numerically speaking, a 2% drop in total sales made sure of that. Despite the muted result, it was not enough for VW to slip backwards so a slight improvement in market share. However, plenty of car makers did lose market share in a slightly depressed car market. Still, some brands did well such as Dacia, Honda, Jaguar and Infiniti..
