The Mitsubishi Outlander came in at 8th, with over 9,400 sales

Total sales of 449,350 was the best for three years but an indicator that the upward turn is more than a momentary success. Still, there is some way to go to reach the best of years, a couple over 600,000. Maybe such boom years are too high anyway and sign of an impending bust.

VW kept its lead going back to 2005, and even increased it's share from 11.0% to 12.5%. As the percentage increase would suggest, Peugeot likewise gained the same percentage gain, but in case up to 11.0%. Those two brands are some way ahead of the rest. BMW got into the Top 10 for the first time in its history, something rare for premium marques in The Netherlands. Only Audi has done it before, and then only spasmodically.

Some large increases can be found further down, with Porsche up 110.8% to a new all time peak of sales. Smart's new 4 door model catapulted the brand up over 225% higher, its best sales result since 2006. Jaguar with a very strong end of year - thanks to the new XE model - gained 136.5%. The 908 sales were the best since 2004. Jeep too thanks to the Renegade was up 144.5%. Škoda had a poor year, as did Fiat, SEAT, Honda and Alfa Romeo.

Below green represents a sales improvement in excess of the overall growth, blue, increased sales but lost market share, and yellow means time to find a new marketing manager (just kidding).
