Sales of cars and light commercial vehicles for June were down 10.1% but YTD up 6%. It's a protected car market so only a few brands that assemble in the Argentine do well. The government can also change regulations regarding importation if it wants to control balance of payments so that can be disruptive to say the least.
VW has been numero uno since 2004 and still has a buffer between it and 2nd placed Chevrolet. Asian makes aren't that big here but they are gaining ground slowly. Toyota has moved into its best ever ranking with a 14% gain in market share and sales up 28.5%.
