The Silverado was up 10% in 2014

Big vehicles sell in the US of A. Vehicles like the Chevrolet Silverado pictured above, which has the styling subtlety of a sledge hammer. I am fascinated by them, but I would never own one. It is selling well, but nothing touches the F-Series, built since 1948. It has been the selling selling vehicle in the US for 33 years.

The most popular pick-ups are US makes, while for cars they are Japanese. SUVs are evenly split. The first European brand is at 26th, showing the limited impact they have in the US for mainstream cars. I can't see that changing anytime soon.
